THE CELEBRATION OF QUINCEAÑERAS
Requirements:
- Family must be an active members if the community (registered or not) and participate on our Sunday Masses.
- Register at least one year to six months in advance.
- Quinceañera’s parents, if live together must be married by the Catholic Church and present the marriage certificate. If not married, you are invited to marry the same day. (Parents must present the requirements for marriages) Otherwise, the quinceañera cannot be celebrated.
- Have received First Communion. If you have not received First Communion, there is no quinceañera celebration. (Bring First Communion Certificate)
Some important details to take into consideration:
- The celebration of the Fifteen Years (Liturgy of the Word) is at 12:00 pm and it is celebrated by deacons most of the time.
- As a Catholic Christian family, it is expected to attend Mass every Sunday here or at another parish.
- There will be a practice the Wednesday before the day of the celebration at 5:00 pm. Followed by confessions for the quinceañera and companions.
- The date reserved for the quinceañera might be canceled from our end with a short notice due to COVID restrictions. If this is the case, we will reimburse the full amount paid or change the date with no extra cost.
- Ceremony could be celebrated outdoors or indoors depending on COVID restrictions, and the amount of people allowed to be present will also be discussed at the moment of reservation.
The ceremony:
- The celebration must be simple and without luxury, emphasizing the religious rather than the material.
- The quinceañera and companions must dress with MODESTY AND DECENCY (covered shoulders, no low neckline, or miniskirts) The quinceañera dress is requested no to be white since it is not a wedding.
- Bible, Rosary, Medal or Bouquet of flowers for the Virgin Mary is not required, but you can bring it. Make sure the medal is from a Catholic religious image. Another non-religious object will not be blessed.
Music:
We encourage to have music for the ceremony. Please make your own arrangements since music is not included in the fee. Parish choirs contact information is available. Mariachi is not allowed.
Photographers:
They must be respectful and discreet; dressed for the occasion. Save the liturgical postures during the celebration/ They should not climb to the platform (presbytery) where the altar is located or circulate behind it. They will have half an hour after the ceremony to take pictures.
Flowers and Decorations:
If the family wishes, they can bring flowers for the altar, and for the benches, but please keep it simple. If you do bring flowers for the altar you are more than welcome to leave them for the following Sunday, please just let us know if this is something you want to do. We do not allow throwing flowers on the ground inside or outside the temple. Flower arrangements from the benches or chairs must be removed immediately after the ceremony.
Cost:
A donation of $800.00 is requested, with a deposit of $100.00 which is NOT REFUNDABLE if the celebration is canceled by any other reason besides COVID restrictions. This amount does not include music or flower arrangements. If you need to move the quinceañera to another date, there is an additional $ 50.00 charge.
Before making any arrangements, both parents and the quinceañera must have read, understood, and agreed to all these requirements.
The meaning of the quinceañera celebration is:
To thank God for the gift of life.
LA CELEBRACION DE QUINCEAÑERAS
REQUISITOS:
- La Familia deben ser miemberos activo de la comunidad (esten o no registrados) y participen de las Misas Dominicales en nuestra Parroquia.
- Regístrese con al menos un año a seis meses de anticipación.
- Los padres de la quinceañera, si viven juntos se les pide estar casados por la Iglesia Católica y presentar el certificado de matrimonio. Si no está casado, está invitado a casarse el mismo día. (Deberán presentar los requisitos para matrimonio) De lo contrario, la quinceañera no se puede celebrar.
- Haber recibido la Primera Comunión. Si no ha recibido la Primera Comunión, no hay celebración de quinceañera. Se requiere el certificado de Primera Comunión para hacer la reservación de la fecha.
Algunos detalles importantes para considerar:
- La celebración de los Quince Años (Liturgia de la Palabra) es a las 12:00 pm y es celebrada por diáconos la mayor parte del tiempo.
- Como familia cristiana católica, se espera que asistan a Misa todos los domingos, aquí o en otra parroquia.
- Habrá una práctica el miércoles anterior al día de la celebración a las 5:00 pm. Seguido de confesiones para la quinceañera y acompañantes.
- La fecha reservada para la quinceañera podría cancelarse de nuestra parte con un breve aviso debido a las restricciones de COVID. Si este es el caso, le reembolsaremos el monto total pagado o cambiaremos la fecha sin costo adicional.
- La ceremonia se puede celebrar al aire libre o en el interior dependiendo de las restricciones de COVID, y la cantidad de personas permitidas para estar presentes también se discutirá en el momento de la reservación.
Ceremonia:
- La celebración debe ser sencilla y sin lujos, enfatizando lo religioso más que lo material.
- La quinceañera y acompañantes deben vestirse con MODESTIA Y DECENCIA (hombros cubiertos sin escote ni minifalda) Se solicita que el vestido de la quinceañera no sea blanco ya que no es una boda.
- No se requiere Biblia, Rosario, Medalla o Ramo de flores para la Virgen María, pero puede traerlo. Asegúrese de que la medalla sea de una imagen religiosa católica. Otro objeto no religioso no será bendecido.
Música:
Animamos a tener música para la ceremonia. Por favor haga sus propios arreglos ya que la música no está incluida en la tarifa. El número de contacto de los coros parroquiales está disponible. No se permite el mariachi.
Fotógrafos:
Deben ser respetuosos y discretos; vestir para la ocasión. Guardar las posturas litúrgicas durante la celebración. No deben subir a la plataforma (presbiterio) donde se encuentra el altar ni circular detrás de él. Tendrán media hora después de la ceremonia para tomar fotografías.
Flores y Decoraciones:
Si la familia lo desea, pueden traer flores para el altar y los bancas o sillas, pero por favor manténgalo simple. Si trae flores para el altar, puede dejarlas para el domingo siguiente, por favor háganos saber si esto es algo que desea hacer. No permitimos tirar flores al suelo dentro o fuera del templo. Los arreglos florales de las bancas o sillas deben retirarse inmediatamente después de la ceremonia.
Costo:
Se solicita una donación total de $ 800.00, con un depósito de $ 100.00 que NO ES REEMBOLSABLE si la celebración es cancelada por cualquier otro motivo además de las restricciones de COVID. Esta cantidad no incluye música ni arreglos florales. Si necesita cambiar de fecha, hay un cargo adicional de $ 50.00.
